The Scientifically Proven Benefits of Meditation

More and more people are turning towards spirituality to achieve a sense of purpose and a healthier lifestyle. Meditation and mindfulness are key buzz words that seem to be on everybody’s lips at the moment. I even visited a fitness show recently and saw an advert for mindful fitness training, which made me smile. I tried to picture a massively beefy body-builder sitting crossed legged in full lotus position,  balancing precariously on a tiny cushion and arrived at the thought that it couldn’t hurt.. Or could it?

There is some shocking news to suggest that meditation can actually cause damage to the brain. But hold on, wait!  Before you hastily use that as an excuse to swap your daily meditation practice for a daily dose of Holly Oaks, check out this link of Mingyur Rinpoche, a Tibetan Buddhist Lama explaining to a group of children the results of scientific evidence that proves the very positive and healthy benefits of how meditation can cause the brain to change for the better.
