Additional Information

Food

Once booked, you will receive a booking confirmation email, at which point we will ask if you have any food allergies / intolerances. You will receive 6 detox smoothies including a smoothie bowl for lunch each day. Everything you need to kick start a detox plan! All smoothies will be dairy/nut/gluten/meat free and extremely tasty!

 

Yoga

Yoga is an ancient art form that helps to strengthen the mind and the body, increase flexibility and boost physical and mental wellbeing. Combining movement and breathing, yoga has been evidenced to provide many health benefits such as:

  • Increased flexibility.
  • Increased muscle strength and tone.
  • Improved respiration, energy and vitality.
  • Maintaining a balanced metabolism.
  • Weight reduction.
  • Cardio and circulatory health.
  • Improved athletic performance.
  • Protection from injury.

Yoga is widely accepted as being known to facilitate both inner and outer transformation in people of all ages, genders and levels of fitness. Mats will be provided for the yoga session, but please do feel free to bring your own if you wish.

 

Tai Chi

Tai Chi, often described as “meditation in motion,” might well be called “medication in motion.”(Harvard Health, 2015) This other well known ancient art form uses gentle exercise and mindfulness to calm and strengthen the mind. Benefits of Tai Chi include:

  • Improved brain volume and memory function
  • Improved mood and self confidence
  • Boosted immunity
  • Reduced blood pressure
  • Improved balance
  • Imporved strength and endurance
  • Improved stress management

 

Meditation

Meditation has been scientifically proven to “relax and rest from the stresses and strains of everyday life” (Jamyang Centre 2017). Benefits of meditation include:

  • Stress reduction
  • Reduced levels of tension and anxiety
  • Increased emotional wellbeing
  • Improved concentration
  • Improved self awareness
  • Improved cardiovascular and immunity health
  • Improved breathing
  • Improved happiness

 

Mindfulness

Mindfulness is essentially  “the ability of the mind to stay with its object, focused and undistracted, for as long as someone wants” (Jamyang Centre 2017). In this super busy, fast paced life that we live in, there are so many distractions that can make it difficult to create some inner space from the thoughts and emotions that tend to endlessly circle in our minds. More and more people are learning how to use mindfulness to help to create that much need space. Further benefits of mindfulness include:

  • Improved sleep
  • Reduced stress
  • Improved mental health
  • Greater levels of happiness in everyday life

 

Detoxing

Detoxes are great for kick starting a new approach to eating that essentially focuses on cutting the C.R.A.P.  C.R.A.P stand for:

C arbinated drinks
R efined sugar
A rtificial colours and flavourings. Also, A lcohol
P rocessed foods

C.R.A.P. foods are the danger zone as they are packed with what we call empty calories and also contain ingredients that ‘rob’ your body of essential nutrients, which has a knock on effect of making you feel sluggish and tired.

Benefits of detoxing include:

Nutrition Session

Our nutrition sessions will focus on understanding food and biochemistry, antioxidants and disease prevention and the importance of eating plant based foods. Benefits of our nutrition sessions include:

  • Improved understanding of how to eat reduce risk of illness
  • Increased understanding of antioxidants and their capacity to fight free radicals
  • Tips on how to prepare quick and easy (and tasty!!!) plant based meals to enhance overall health and wellbeing
  • Take home guide on how to continue a detox / cleanse plan

 

Nutritional scan 

The nutritional health scan that we are including in the weekend’s programme, as an optional extra, works through reading electromagnetic wave signals emitted by the human body. These wave signals represent the specific state of the human body. The emitted electromagnetic wave signals are different under the different conditions of the human body, such as health, sub-health, disease, etc. Our nutrition scan will  highlight the status of your body’s vitamin and trace mineral levels, identifying which areas you may need to address in order to encourage optimum wellness (detailing levels of A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, C, D3, E and K, as well as calcium, iron, zinc, selenium, phosphorous, potassium, magnesium, copper, cobalt, manganese, iodine and more). This is a fantastic way of taking the guess work out of what nutrients you lack, saving you future time and money!

 

Trampery Venue

The event is being held at The Trampery Republic. See transport details and travel directions above. This fantastic venue is light, airy and spacious and situated on the penthouse floor of a 9 floor building, with fabulous decking to sit out on, overlooking the docklands, Greenwich 02 and Canary Wharf. Fingers crossed for the sun!

 

Time

Please note – this event runs as a weekend programme from 10am – 5pm on Saturday 10th June and Sunday 11th June, with no overnight stay. Participants are asked to arrive between 9.30am and 9.50am each day, to ensure a prompt start at 10am.

 

What to Wear?

Please come in comfortable clothing that will enable you to participate in all activities, including Yoga and Tai Chi.
